* When you first fill your tub, you will need to use 2-4 teaspoons of either Bromine or Chlorine, depending on your preference.  Try to use granulated – I typically advise against tablets and floaters.  You also need to add this much after each use, or every 3-4 days if you’re not using the tub.  You can easily buy either one on amazon.  Chlorine Granules or Bromine Granules.  You can check your levels by using a test strip.

* It is important that you maintain the pH and alkalinity of your hot tub.  This is easily done with pH/Alkalinity Reducer.  The  alkalinity of the water where you live will depend on the amount you need pH/Alkalinity Down.  Follow the directions and keep track of how much you use to get your pH balanced.  This will be the same amount you will need if you drain and refill your tub.  Use a test strip and GRADUALLY add daily until you get it balanced.

* The last product that you will need will be a shock oxidizer.  Shock Oxidizer.  You will only need to use this AS NEEDED if the water becomes cloudy.

**  You can find test strips for all of these on amazon.  Here’s a couple that are an all-in-one.   EASYTEST Test Strips, 6 in1 Test Strips

Deciding On The Right Cover Lifter

Let's face it, there's a ton of choices of cover lifters out there. Choosing the right cover lifter can be difficult. You want to consider where you want the cover lifter attached to. Styles include undermount (which slides under the tub itself), top mount and low mount (which attach to the tub with screws and bolts accordingly). You'll also want to decide it you want hydraulic or manual, with hydraulic being higher at cost because of their more complex parts. No matter which cover lifter you choose, you can't go wrong. A cover lifter allows you to open and close your cover with ease.
